Rules for English program students

RULES FOR ENGLISH PROGRAM STUDENTS IN THE DEPARTMENT OF CARDIAC SURGERY


1. Students gather at 8.55 am in the conference room at the seventh floor where
they are welcomed by a member of the surgical team.
2. Students are obliged to participate in both practical part of the rotation as well
as in lectures – they sign the attendence list every day
3. Students are divided in groups according to the dean’s office assesment
4. Students are guided to operating theaters where they have opportunity to
witness real open heart procedures
5. In order to do so students have to bring with them soft type of shoes. The OR
can not be entered in the shoes you walk street.
6. Before entering the OR you MUST wear a cap covering your hair and a facial
mask
7. In the OR you concentrate around the patients head (where the anesthetist
work) from where you will have a goor perspective of the operative field – once
in a while you will be asked by the enesthetist team to withdraw – whe they
need na access to the patient
8. Students should also have a stetoscope any time they stay at the ward and
work with patients
9. Those who are particularily interested in surgery will have a possibility to scrub
and assist surgeons upon favourite circumstances during the second week –
please ask a surgeon reposnsible for your group.
10. Students are encouraged to ask questions and propose issues they’d like to
discuss – the rotation is for you to benefit
